A Alliance française is a non-non-profit-making organisation whose mission is to promote French language and culture outside France. Its primary concern is teaching French as a 2nd language. These are headquartered inside Paris.

A Alliance was created in July 21, 1883 by a class action of eminent Frenchmen, including Paul Cambon, Ferdinand de Lesseps and Louis Pasteur.
